About the CEO
CEO, Tia Boggan
Tia Boggan is no stranger to athletics and breaking down doors. She has been competing in sports such as basketball and soccer since a very young age. At times, there were not enough women to sign up for a certain sport so she was forced to play on boys teams. While this offered a unique opportunity for higher level experience it was also her first experience at being ostracized in sports simply for being a woman.
Fast forward through high school sports and onto college where Tia continued to play soccer and basketball and continued to see the disparity in the treatment of female athletes versus their male counterparts. After college Tia joined the United States Marine Corps and served active duty for 8 years. While stationed in San Diego, CA she found her Kru Boungnaphonh Makthepharaks and was introduced to Muay Thai in 2020.
Since being introduced to the sport Tia has made it her mission to highlight, promote, and sponsor female combat sport athletes to the world. Tia when asked why did you start this brand: “Women have been left out of for too long. Many of us work just as hard if not harder than the males and receive way less than they do. I’m sick of it and I want to be the catalyst that forces change”. With this fire in her mind and heart Helian Designs was born.
Tia also trains and actively competes in Muay Thai. She has competed in IKF point kickboxing, Technical Thai boxing, and Muay Thai development league matches and currently has a record of 8-0.
